Lab Testing & Certificates of Analysis

About 95% of the True North Performance catalogue has a published Certificate of Analysis (COA). We send samples ourselves to two independent labs, Janoshik and Testides, and post the results as we receive them. Each COA shows the measured strength against the label claim, and purity where the lab tests for it.

Reports will appear here when COA images are saved on public products.

Percentages compare matching reported units; they do not indicate pass/fail status. Match the batch and original report before relying on a result.

How to read a COA

Six things to check on every certificate

Markers 1–6 link to the matching checks alongside. Select a marker to read its explanation. Report layouts vary by laboratory.
  1. Lab name

Check which laboratory issued the report. A lab name entered in a product field is not itself verification that the report is genuine.

  2. Sample ID

Find the laboratory’s sample or report reference. Where the issuing lab provides a verification service, use that reference to check the original report.

  3. Test method

Read the method and scope printed on the report. Different methods answer different questions; do not assume a test covers measurements that are not listed.

  4. Label claim vs. result

The key number. For oils it reads in mg/ml; for tablets, mg per tablet. Within or slightly above the claim is a pass.

  5. Purity / Strength

Accurately measured dosage and purity for each compound is listed.

  6. Test date

When the sample was analysed. Newer is better, since each batch can differ.

What a difference from the label means

  • An underdosed product means you get less than you paid for; A heavily overdosed one means the label can not be trusted either
  • The comparison is shown only for single numeric values with matching recognized units. Blends, ranges and incompatible units are left as reported text.
  • The page does not assign pass/fail status or a universal acceptance threshold. Read the original report for its scope and any applicable specifications.

Our testing process

How products get tested

We receive a new batch.

New stock is held back until a sample has been sent for testing.

We send a sample to an independent lab.

TNP ships samples directly to Janoshik or Testides. The manufacturer has no say in which sample is sent.

We compare the result to the label

The lab measures strength and purity. We check both against what the product claims, if everything checks out, our product is listed with COA.

FAQ

Questions about testing

What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?

A COA is a lab report showing what an independent lab found when it tested a product sample. It lists the compound identified, the measured strength against the label claim and, for peptides, the purity. It is the clearest way to check a product before you buy.

Which labs test TNP products?

We use two independent labs: Janoshik, a widely recognized analytical lab in the Czech Republic, and Testides, a Toronto based lab that specializes in peptide purity and identity testing. Each COA names the lab that produced it.

Who sends the samples for testing?

About 95% of our catalogue has a published COA. The rest are usually new arrivals still waiting on results, or sealed pharmaceutical products from licensed manufacturers. Contact us for the latest status on any product.

Why does every product not have a COA?

Contact our team with the product name and batch or lot number, and ask for the available report or an accessible text copy. Check that the report corresponds to the batch you are enquiring about.

What happens if a batch fails testing?

Failed batches are thrown out and never sold under their original label. If a batch tests at 99%+ purity but below its labelled strength, we may relabel it to the measured strength and sell it at a discount as a clearly marked separate product.

COAs reflect the specific sample tested on the date shown. Products sold by True North Performance are intended for laboratory and research purposes only and are not for human or animal consumption. See our Terms & Conditions.
