Description

Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack. It works by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently. Each tablet contains 10 mg of active lisinopril in Canadian pharmaceutical-grade quality.

Side effects and precautions: Common side effects include dizziness, headache, and dry cough. First doses can cause dizziness due to a drop in blood pressure. A nonproductive cough may occur with ACE inhibitors and typically resolves when the drug is discontinued. This medication carries important warnings: lisinopril can cause harm to a fetus or pregnancy loss if taken during pregnancy, so do not take it while pregnant. Do not use if you are allergic to lisinopril or any other ACE inhibitor. Do not take within 36 hours before or after medicine containing sacubitril. If you have diabetes, do not take with medications containing aliskiren. If you have kidney problems, there is increased risk of high potassium levels in the body.
